Greetings! My name is Weldon Gray and I am very happy
to be sharing with you, through the eyes of a jester, a little
bit about a long since vanished time period we call the
Middle Ages. By the way, I am the jester and am also a bit
of a history buff. All of the artifacts that I use in my show,
a 16th Century lute, a Celtic Clarsach harp, Viking
whipcord bobbins, ancient games of skill and more, I have
re-created myself. I have documentation written
explaining in detail how these replica artifacts were made,
for any of the adults who wish to peruse them after the
show.

During the show, the children will watch, listen and giggle
as a silly Jester explores castle life while playing his lute
and a few tunes on his flute. Oh, I must tell you about
George. He is a mischievous, fun-loving purple monkey
(which by the way has nothing to do with medieval life)
but he sure makes the show fun for the kids. Jesters often
used puppets and replicas of themselves to help bolster
their antics, and I find that George fills this position well.

From time to time I invite the children to come on stage
with me to try on the jester's hat, do some Viking
whipcording (which is the method the Vikings used to
make their cords and ropes), and to learn a medieval
game. All in all, the program moves along at quite a fast
pace with lots of variety and participation as the jester
tells his story of the Middle Ages.

If you think this show would interest you or your group,

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and am willing to travel
anywhere considering travel expense.
